Demetrius Lambrinos has spent his career litigating nationwide antitrust class actions against global cartels on behalf of consumers. These suits have resulted in hundreds of millions of dollars in settlements. He joined the firm in 2017.
Representative matters he currently litigates include:
- Capacitors Price-Fixing Antitrust Litigation: The firm is Sole Lead Counsel in a class action lawsuit alleging that global capacitor manufacturers conspired to fix prices, forcing direct purchasers to pay more. The case is currently in discovery and class certification is fully briefed. Initial settlements in the case exceed $100 million; and
- Generic Drug Price-Fixing Antitrust Litigation: The firm is on the Plaintiffs’ Steering Committee representing U.S. consumers and insurers in a multidistrict antitrust litigation accusing a large number of generic drug manufacturers with conspiring to fix and raise prices for 18 generic medications. In the past few years, prices for these drugs have skyrocketed by more than 1,000 percent. Consumers blame the companies for engineering these price hikes, eliminating the benefits of competition, and forcing them to pay exorbitant prices. The firm is also currently investigating many other generic drugs for potential class action claims.
Demetrius has been involved in all case aspects, from initial case investigation to depositions and through trial. He has first chaired numerous depositions, argued substantive motions, written briefs, prepared experts to testify, and successfully conducted other high-level legal activities.
In 2018, Demetrius was named a Northern California “Super Lawyer” by Thomson Reuters’ Super Lawyers publication, which previously had designated him as a “Rising Star” in 2015-2016.
Demetrius is also active in the community. He is currently on the board of the Bay Area Urban Debate League, a nonprofit that helps underserved Bay Area high schools develop and maintain after-school debate programs.
