Jenel Lorraine Day is the firm’s director of operations. Among her many duties, she oversees a number of firm departments—including new case investigations, client success, business development, and marketing communication—and manages administration and legal services. She provides customer service to everyone in the firm, working to improve its processes and systems, including litigation coordination and assisting with troubleshooting desktop IT problems.
Jenel was previously the firm’s administration and paralegal manager, where she was responsible for hiring and training paralegal and administrative personnel and overseeing the firm’s case management, including case docket and deadline management, compliance with court procedures, and e-discovery efforts. She also supervised legal staff efforts in preparing for depositions, hearings, and trials.
Jenel has over 15 years of high-level litigation experience, including over a decade of supervisory plaintiff and defense work for major law firms across the country, with substantial experience leading trial teams involving large-scale complex litigation. She has comprehensive proficiency in state and federal court practices and procedures in several jurisdictions, and litigation team management and leadership at the discovery, trial, and appellate levels. Prior to working at the firm, she was a case manager at Boies Schiller Flexner LLP, now in San Francisco, where she was the lead paralegal on several tried and trial-ready cases. Prior to her experience there, she was a senior paralegal at Seyfarth Shaw LLP in San Francisco and a paralegal at Kaye Scholer, LLP in New York City. She started her career as a contract document review paralegal for several New York City firms.
Jenel is a member of the Association of Legal Administrators. She is also a former member of Law360's Legal Industry Editorial Board, which provides feedback on Law360's coverage and expert insight on how best to shape future coverage.
