Margaux joined the firm as counsel in 2024. As a tenacious advocate committed to using the law as a force for good, she has litigated cases on behalf of plaintiffs, classes, and opt-outs challenging unfair and fraudulent practices in the healthcare, pharmaceutical, and technological spaces. She is particularly interested in creative uses of antitrust law to further equal and affordable access to food, medicine, and other consumer goods. Her practice at the firm also focuses on the pioneering intersections between copyright law and artificial intelligence on behalf of software coders, book authors, and visual artists.
Margaux arrived from her former counsel position at the San Francisco office of an international law firm where she specialized in antitrust and complex commercial litigation in the healthcare and technology practice areas. Before that, she was an associate at a boutique antitrust litigation firm where she tried cases from inception to trial and managed an active pro bono docket.
Prior to law school, Margaux received her Ph.D. in English from the University of St. Andrews and taught literature and humanities courses in colleges throughout New York City. At the University of California Irvine School of Law, Margaux was an inaugural public interest fellow; senior style editor for the UC Irvine Law Review; recipient of the UCI Law Moot Court Best Brief award and Oral Argument semifinalist; and earned pro bono high honors (200+ hours). After law school, she clerked for the Honorable Janet Bond Arterton of the United States District Court for the District of Connecticut.
Margaux presently edits the chapter on “Indirect Purchaser Actions” for the California Antitrust and Unfair Competition Law treatise. She has also published law review articles on topics ranging from the political process doctrine to the contradictions of the Supreme Court’s First Amendment “compelled speech” jurisprudence in the context of unions. In her former non-legal life, she wrote extensively about Oscar Wilde.
Margaux has drafted amicus briefs on pressing issues related to gun regulation for nationally recognized nonprofits, argued and won compassionate release motions under the First Step Act, defended depositions for pro se litigants, and worked on various immigration-related motions on behalf of dreamers. She is a member of the American Bar Association.
