San Francisco Antitrust Attorney Joseph R. Saveri Launches Saveri Law Firm

Leading San Francisco antitrust attorney Joseph R. Saveri has gone out on his own. After 20 years with plaintiffs’ firm Lieff Cabraser Heimann & Bernstein, Saveri today announced the opening of his own law firm, the Saveri Law Firm, located in San Francisco, California.

The Saveri Law Firm will specialize in antitrust and intellectual property litigation, complex business disputes, and class actions.

With over 25 years of litigation experience, Saveri has built a name for himself in the fields of antitrust law, class actions, and complex litigation. He started his career doing general litigation work at the San Francisco law firm of McCutchen, Doyle, Brown & Enersen. In 1992, Saveri joined the plaintiffs’ firm Lieff Cabraser Heimann & Bernstein, where he founded and developed the firm’s highly regarded and successful antitrust and intellectual property practice. He also served as the firm’s Managing Partner and the Chair of the firm’s Antitrust and Intellectual Property practice group. In 2012, his practice group was recognized as one of the top five practice groups in California. During those 20 years, Saveri handled numerous groundbreaking and landmark cases.

While at Lieff Cabraser Heimann & Bernstein, Saveri built a highly-respected antitrust department, leading his team in a number of high-profile antitrust lawsuits including: recent litigation against Apple, Google, Intel, Adobe Systems, Pixar, Lucasfilm, and other tech companies for illegally agreeing not to poach each other’s employees; the class action which generated over $400 million in settlements for direct purchasers in price-fixing claims against the cartel of TFT-LCD manufacturers; a class action lawsuit on behalf of consumers and others against Bayer for exclusionary drug pricing agreements involving the generic version of the drug Cipro; and another landmark class action against De Beers SA, the diamond company, for monopolizing the rough diamond trade. Saveri also served as lead counsel in other state and federal trials involving brand-name prescription drug price-fixing and the pharmaceutical industry.

Now, Saveri believes he can continue to handle antitrust and other complex cases, while at the same time accommodating a wide range of clients including businesses, individuals, employees, public officials, CEOs, and corporate executives. “I am excited about my new venture,” says Saveri. “I am looking forward to providing the highest quality legal representation to my clients, to work with my colleagues throughout the United States, and to develop and grow the law practice I have built for the last 25 years.”

Among the cases he will handle, Saveri says his new firm “will continue to lead the cases that he has filed,” including the high-tech cold calling case against tech leaders Apple, Google, Intel, Pixar, Intuit, Lucasfilm, and others; the Cipro case pending in front of the California Supreme Court; and the antirust price fixing case against titanium dioxide manufacturers DuPont, Huntsman, Millenium Inorganic Chemicals, and Kronos. Saveri anticipates a substantial amount of new work as well.

The firm is based in San Francisco, California. The firm handles cases on a contingent basis, by the hour, or through hybrid or other arrangements.
